06 Projects

  1. Moon River Walleye Rehabilitation Project (read the report);
  2. Bass Nest Creation Project (CFIP Partnership with MNR and numerous cottage associations) (more information, visit "How to Attract Nesting Smallmouth Bass to Your Shoreline");
  3. Franklin Island Crown Lake Camping Mitigation and Monitoring Project (now comprising 5 partners: Carling Township, West Carling Association White Squall, MNR and EGBSC);
  4. Assisting MNR with 2006 Cormorant Research Projects;
  5. Walleye introduction at Shawanaga Landing (CFIP project with MNR and Shawanaga First Nation as partners).

Council projects should meet the following criteria:

  • Have regard for MNR's (Ministry of Natural Resources) strategic directions and programs as well as appropriate and applicable municipal, provincial and federal legislation and regulations;
  • Have broad community benefit;
  • Have broad ecosystem benefit and value;
  • Incorporate cost-sharing partners;
  • Demonstrate a clear link to sponsoring agencies and associations;
  • Have community participation and support;
  • Promote education and awareness;
  • Are not considered research work; and
  • Have a detailed proposal and budget with measurable outputs.

  3. Walleye Update
  4. Council holds instruction days on "How to Attract Nesting Smallmouth Bass to Your Shoreline".
