- Moon River Walleye Rehabilitation
Project (read the report);
- Bass Nest Creation Project (CFIP
Partnership with MNR and numerous cottage associations) (more
information, visit "How to Attract Nesting Smallmouth Bass to
Your Shoreline");
- Franklin Island Crown Lake Camping
Mitigation and Monitoring Project (now comprising 5 partners: Carling
Township, West Carling Association White Squall, MNR and EGBSC);
- Assisting MNR with 2006 Cormorant
Research Projects;
- Walleye introduction at Shawanaga
Landing (CFIP project with MNR and Shawanaga First Nation as
partners).
Council
projects should meet the following criteria:
- Have regard for
MNR's (Ministry of Natural Resources) strategic directions and
programs as well as appropriate and applicable municipal, provincial
and federal legislation and regulations;
- Have broad
community benefit;
- Have broad
ecosystem benefit and value;
- Incorporate
cost-sharing partners;
- Demonstrate a
clear link to sponsoring agencies and associations;
- Have community
participation and support;
- Promote
education and awareness;
- Are not
considered research work; and
- Have a detailed
proposal and budget with measurable outputs.
